Daytime Events

Interested in bringing a group to one of San Antonio’s most charming locations? Visit the Guenther House and enjoy freshly baked items and homemade specials in the Roof Garden. The Roof Garden is ideal for breakfast buffets, luncheons, showers, conferences and charitable functions.

A minimum food and beverage purchase of $400.00 is required to reserve the Roof Garden. A 20% service charge, which includes the private use of the Roof Garden, white linens and fresh seasonal centerpieces, plus applicable taxes will be added to the total bill.

The Guenther House is a non-smoking facility. The Roof Garden, a restored historical facility, is not accessible to those individuals unable to negotiate stairs as there is no elevator access to the 3rd floor.

Menu Recipes and Mixes

While touring this historic homestead your group will be able to browse and shop our San Antonio River Mill Store. The store features a line of gourmet baking mixes, baking accessories, and a select group of Texas delights. Many of the menu items prepared in the Guenther House Restaurant and served for daytime events are made with these gourmet mixes which are available for purchase during your event or online.

Recipes for many of these items, such as our Champagne Chicken Strudel, Champagne Chicken Enchiladas and our wonderful Cherry Cream Cheese Pastry, are also available online.

Menu Policies and Fees

Thank you for considering The Guenther House for your event. All food and non-alcoholic beverage prices are subject to state sales tax and a 20% service charge which includes the private use of the Roof Garden, white linens and fresh seasonal centerpieces.

Menu prices are subject to change, but may be confirmed up to three (3) months prior to your event.

The pre-selected menu is due a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the event. The same menu must be selected for the entire group.

A minimum food and beverage purchase of $400 is required in order to reserve the Roof Garden based on a two (2) hour time frame. An additional hour may be purchased for $50 and is based on availability.

A minimum food and beverage purchase of $800 is required in order to reserve the Roof Garden for an event lasting or exceeding more than four (4) hours.

Gaurantees

A guaranteed number of guests is required no less than three (3) business days prior to the function.

If a guarantee guest count is not received three (3) business days prior to the function, billing will be based on the contracted number listed in your agreement or the actual number of guests served, whichever is greater.

In the event of an overage in the guarantee, all remaining food and beverage is sole property of the Guenther House.

Deposit

A $50 down payment is required as a security deposit in order to book any daytime event; tentative events are not accepted. This deposit is non-refundable but will be credited to your balance at the end of your event.

Available Hours

The Roof Garden is available seven (7) days a week between the hours of 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., and is based on a two-hour time frame. The Guenther House is closed on some major holidays and will not be available for events on those days.

The host or hostess may have access to the Roof Garden 15 minutes before the event starts. If additional time is required, a $50 set-up fee will be accessed. Advance notice for this request is required.

Additional hours may be pre-purchased at a rate of $50 per hour. Any time that exceeds the contracted rented time without prior notice will be billed at an additional $100 per hour and added to the bill at the end of the event. The end time indicated on the contract represents the time the facility will close with all guests and vendors departing.

Breakfast can be served as early as 7:30 a.m.; lunch can be served as early as 11:00 a.m.

Miscellaneous Information

The Guenther House Special Events Coordinator must be made aware of all vendors that will access The Guenther House during the course of the event: event planner, cake, audio visual, musicians, florist, and photographer. These vendors must coordinate set up and breakdown times, and equipment needs with the Special Events Coordinator prior to the event.

Weddings and/or Wedding Ceremonies are not permitted in or on the Guenther House facilities during operating hours, 7am to 4pm
